What causes delays in Nevada
- Caliche. The cemented hardpan under most of the Las Vegas valley needs equipment ordinary trenching does not, and published excavation guidance puts hard ground at several times soil cost. It is the most commonly underestimated line in a southern Nevada build.
- Resort corridor work windows. Construction near the Strip is scheduled around the convention calendar, so the question is not only how long a build takes but when it is allowed to start.

How to make it go faster
- Start 90 to 120 days before you need service. Almost every avoidable problem comes from starting late.
- Get landlord and riser approval moving on day one. It is the delay you control and the one most often ignored.
- Give the carrier a named site contact who can actually open doors, not a general reception number.
- Prefer a lit building if you have any choice about location. It is worth real money at lease negotiation time.
- If the timeline will not work, put fixed wireless in as a bridge and let the fiber build run behind it.
