The fiber to the premises network Google started in Kansas City in 2012, now trading as GFiber and selling symmetrical business plans at published prices in the cities it has built.
Google Fiber, trading as GFiber, began building in Maricopa County in 2023 and is serving its first customers in Chandler and Mesa. Construction started in Queen Creek and Tempe in June 2025 and neither had moved to a serving status more than a year later. Be careful with the wording here, because it is widely overstated: serving first customers in a city is not the same as serving the city. Published tiers run 1 Gig, 3 Gig and 8 Gig at flat monthly prices, and there is no evidence it sells an SLA-backed dedicated circuit in Arizona.
Where Google Fiber is strong
- Published business pricing, symmetrical, no contract, no data caps and no equipment fee on the entry tiers
- Kansas City was the first city it built, so this is its oldest and densest network rather than a new market
- Multi gig is ordinary here rather than exotic
- The price is the price. There is nothing to negotiate and nothing to discover at renewal
Google Fiber in Arizona specifically
- Chandler and Mesa are where it is serving customers. Tempe and Queen Creek have been under construction since June 2025.
- Its own Mesa material describes a fiber to the home and business network, which is the only business signal we can find and does not evidence a dedicated product.
- Published flat pricing with symmetrical speeds up to 8 Gig, which is genuinely useful for a small office that does not need contractual uptime.
- No dedicated circuit, no negotiated service credits, no account team as far as we can establish. If uptime is contractual for you, ask before you plan around it.
- Build is street by street. Being in Chandler or Mesa is not the same as being on the network.
Best fit. Small offices in Chandler and Mesa that want fast symmetrical fiber at a published price and do not need an SLA.
What to watch for before you sign
- Street by street inside each city. Being in a GFiber city is not the same as being on a GFiber street.
- The published tiers are a small business product. There is no negotiated SLA and no account team behind them.
- The 5 Gig and 8 Gig business tiers are quoted rather than published, which is a different conversation.
- If you need service credits when it goes down, ask what the terms actually say before comparing this against a dedicated circuit.

Contract term
- 36 months is the usual starting point for business fiber and dedicated internet. 12 and 24 month terms exist and normally cost more per month.
- 60 months buys the biggest discount and the largest construction contribution, which is why it is worth pricing even if you do not sign it.
- Ask for the construction charge at 36 months and at 60 months as two separate numbers. That gap is the real negotiation.
- Check the renewal and the annual escalator before the monthly price. A cheap year one with an automatic uplift is not a cheap contract.
