When it sold its mass market fiber business to AT&T in February 2026 it kept every piece of network that matters to a business buyer: the national, regional, state and metro fiber backbone, the central offices and the real estate, and its enterprise and wholesale customers in all geographies. It remains the default first quote for a dedicated circuit in Phoenix or Tucson.

- Small business is the exception. Lumen Mass Markets included small business, so a small Arizona site on a mass market product did transfer to AT&T. Check which side of that line you are on.
- It kept the central offices as real estate, and AT&T acquired the mass market equipment inside them plus access rights to certain buildings, poles and conduits. Both companies are in those buildings now.

Contract term
- 36 months is the usual starting point for business fiber and dedicated internet. 12 and 24 month terms exist and normally cost more per month.
- 60 months buys the biggest discount and the largest construction contribution, which is why it is worth pricing even if you do not sign it.
- Ask for the construction charge at 36 months and at 60 months as two separate numbers. That gap is the real negotiation.
- Check the renewal and the annual escalator before the monthly price. A cheap year one with an automatic uplift is not a cheap contract.
