Zayo carries metro fiber in both Las Vegas and Reno plus long haul across the state, and it lists Las Vegas to Reno among the routes it has been expanding. It is strong into data centres and carrier hotels and largely irrelevant to a small office that does not sit near one of its routes. This is an infrastructure company, not a small business ISP.

- Excellent for data centre connectivity, dark fiber, wavelengths and multi-gig point to point, which is the requirement Nevada's data centre build-out actually generates.
- Frequently the underlying network beneath another provider's branded service.
- Absorbed Crown Castle's fiber business on 1 May 2026, so Crown Castle paperwork now belongs to Zayo.
- Proximity to an existing Zayo route decides everything. Being in a Zayo city is not the same as being on a Zayo route.
Best fit. Data centre connectivity, Las Vegas to Reno transport, dark fiber and carrier grade requirements.
What to watch for before you sign
- Reach is route based, not blanket coverage. Being near a Zayo route matters more than being in a Zayo city.
- Better suited to buildings with real bandwidth requirements than to small offices.
- Since May 2026 a Crown Castle Fiber quote is a Zayo quote. Do not treat them as two bids.

Contract term
- 36 months is the usual starting point for business fiber and dedicated internet. 12 and 24 month terms exist and normally cost more per month.
- 60 months buys the biggest discount and the largest construction contribution, which is why it is worth pricing even if you do not sign it.
- Ask for the construction charge at 36 months and at 60 months as two separate numbers. That gap is the real negotiation.
- Check the renewal and the annual escalator before the monthly price. A cheap year one with an automatic uplift is not a cheap contract.
